Luther Samuel Ford

Mr. Luther Samuel Ford, 81, of Greenville, NC, passed away at Vidant Medical Center Monday, March 28, 2022, after a lengthy battle of declining health.  We take comfort in knowing that he fell asleep here and woke up in the presence of Jesus.  Mr. Ford was born in Mercer County, WV, May 7, 1940, to the late Cordy Ephraim and Rillie Simpson Ford.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and neighbor.  Mr. Ford was a faithful Christian and raised his family to put God first in their lives.  He worked alongside his wife in multiple counties throughout North Carolina as a real estate appraiser.  Mr. Ford will be lovingly remembered by his wife and partner of 62 years, Pansy Richards Ford of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Wayne Jones of Mt. Airy; his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Sharon Ford of Franklin, NC; grandchildren, Misty and Andrew Gouge of Knoxville, TN, Miranda and Tyler Beatty of Charlotte, Christopher and Jess Jones, and Nathaniel and Whitney Ford all of Raleigh; great grandchildren, Aaron and Avery Payne, Tucker and Sienna Beatty, Haley and Addison Nordberg, Colby, Conner, and Chyler Gouge, and Joanna and Nora Ford; a sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Keith Reed.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Ford was preceded in death by sisters, Pearl Bird and Delores Hanks; brothers, Charlie Panell, Harvey, and Johnny Walls, Bill, Roy, and Jim Ford.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Oakdale Cemetery Saturday, April 2, 2022, with Kevin and Nathaniel Ford officiating.  The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, Saturday from 12:30 PM until the time to leave for the service.  In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
