Luther Wayne Moser

Mr. Luther Wayne Moser, 93, of Mount Airy passed peacefully on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mount Airy, surrounded by his loving family.  Mr. Moser was born on March 2, 1929, in Surry County to the late James Dallas and Effie Haymore Moser.  Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.  He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.  Left to cherish his memories are his daughter and son-in-law, Sheri Moser Martin and husband, Mitch; two sons and daughters-in-law, Barry Moser and wife Terri, Brian Moser and wife Kristy; six grandchildren, T. J. Martin and wife Courtney, Kari Reynolds and husband, Dalton; Kelly Moser and wife Janet, Lee Moser and wife Amanda, Addison Moser and fiancée Rylee Haynes, Charlotte Moser and Garrett Durham; great-grandchildren, Charlee Moser, Maebry Moser, Moser Reynolds, Roan Reynolds, Elijah Moser; one sister, Georgia Moser Hatcher; many nieces and nephews; and special golfing buddies.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Moser was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Ann Venable Moser; a granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Moser; a sister, Thelma Moser Creed; and three brothers, Tom Moser, James Dallas Moser Jr., and James Roscoe Moser.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Grant Atkins and Rev. Dale Wallace officiating.  Burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 2, 2022, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the White Plains Elementary School Backpack Program, 710 Cadle Ford Road, Mount Airy, North Carolina 27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
