Lyle Wiley Maxey

Mr. Lyle Wiley Maxey, 64, of Mount Airy, went home to be with Lord on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Northern Hospital of Surry County, while surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Maxey was born February 5, 1953, in Mercer County, WV, to Ruth Wiley Maxey and the late Aaron Burr Maxey. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Ruby Pell Maxey; a son, Seth Maxey; his mother, Ruth Wiley Maxey; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Nigel and Sharon Maxey and Margie Maxey; four nieces; and four great nephews. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Pastor Mike Hewett and Dr. David Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Goins Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Wake Forest Comprehensive Cancer Center and the staff at Northern Hospital of Surry County for the love and care shown to Lyle during his illness.
