Lynn Monroe Brown

Mr. Lynn Monroe Brown, 70, of Dobson, passed away Saturday morning, March 19, 2011, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. He was born in Randolph County, to Ethel Roberts Brown and the late Clarence Monroe Brown. He retired from the Surry County School System as a maintenance supervisor. In addition to his father, a brother, Mickey Brown, preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Linda Brewer Brown; a daughter, Susannah Lynn Brown of Hickory; a sister, Donna Brown; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Ann Brown and Gilbert and Katherine Brown, all of Asheboro; and a sister-in-law, Janie Brown of Burlington. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Sunday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held Monday, March 21, 2011, at 2:00 PM in the cemetery of Union Grove Christian Church in Asheboro. The Rev. Cory Honeycutt and Dr. Billy Jarrett will officiate at the graveside service after which the family will receive friends in the church. The family has requested, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Duke Cancer Institute, 512 South Mangum Street, Suite 400, Durham, NC 27701 or to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
