Lyrine Bowman

Mr. Tyrie “Lyrine” Bowman, 76, of Mount Airy, NC, passed away on Monday evening, July 12, 2021 at Northern Regional Hospital. Lyrine was born on September 4, 1944 in Surry County to the late James Tyrie Bowman and Maggie May Felts Bowman. Lyrine was a 1962 graduate of Mount Airy High School and was retired from Kentucky Derby Hoisery. Mr. Bowman is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen Bowman Martin and Jonathan; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff Bowman and Jill; 9 grandchildren, Mark, Angie (Michael), Tanner, Bailey, Sidney, Kerigan, Abby, Jace, and Maggie; 4 great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Jaxon, Jameson, and Collin; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Irene Bowman Collins, Pansy Bowman Chaney, and Albert Nichols; two sisters-in-law, Cindy Bowman and Robbie Bowman; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Jean Bowman Combs and Mary Etta Bowman Nichols; four brothers, James Herbert Bowman, Cecil Earl Bowman, Everette Marshall Bowman, and Dennis Wayne “Chipper” Bowman; and a special loved one, Donna Rigney. There are no formal services planned for Lyrine at this time. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Bowman family.
