Mabel Cockerham

Mrs. Mabel Marion Cockerham, age 95, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Dunmore Plantation in Dobson, NC.  She was born January 28, 1924 in Surry County to the late Joseph Paul Marion and the late Bessie Doss Marion.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Grant Cockerham; two brothers, Paul Marion, Jr. and Hugh Leo Marion and one sister, Lucille Dean.  Left to cherish her memory is a special nephew, James D. Marion of Flat Rock, NC.  Mrs. Cockerham was a faithful member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.  Mabel loved to sing and served as choir director for several years.  A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Boonville Baptist Cemetery in Boonville, NC, beginning at 11:00 am with the Rev. James Pardue officiating.  Moody-Davis Funeral Service is respectively serving the Cockerham family.
