Mabel Akers Dalton

Mrs. Mabel Akers Dalton, age 86 of Mt. Airy, widow of Mr. Daniel Pierce Dalton, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2007 at her home. Mrs. Dalton was born in Carroll County, to Irvin and Susie Easter Akers. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Lewis and Bonnie Dalton of Mt. Airy; grandchildren; Tonya M. Tolbert and husband Stephen; Vickie Huff and Lewis Dalton, Jr. and wife, Sandra; eight great grandchildren; and special friends, Jackie Payne and Richard Watts. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 18, 2007 at Solid Rock Tabernacle Church (formerly Friendly Tabernacle) on McBride Rd., conducted by Rev. Roby Wilcox and Rev. Edd Parker. Entombment will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 7:00 to 9:00 at Moody Funeral Home where her body will remain until the time to be taken to the church to lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service.
