Mabel Hester Willard Ring

Mrs. Mabel Hester Willard Ring, 85, of Pilot Mountain, passed away Friday, November 27, 2009, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Ring was born August 27, 1924, in Patrick County, VA, to Posey and Verdie Alice Overby Willard. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Roger Crissman of Pilot Mountain; two sons, Roger W. and wife, Sandra Ring, and Timothy W. Ring and girlfriend, April Ayers, all of Pilot Mountain; grandchildren, Candy F. and husband, Steve Gibson, Dusty W. and wife, Stephanie Ring, Rusty W. Ring, and Tammy L. and husband, Chris Wall; great-grandchildren, Wesley A. Gibson, Brian G. Gibson and wife, Sheena, Scott M. Gibson and wife, Stacy, Samantha P. Ring, Dusty W. Ring, Jr., Erica S. Ring, Cody R. Ring, Joseph W. Gibson, Christopher L. Wall, Amy R. Wall, Austin T. Wall, and Brady W. Ring; and a great-great-grandchild, Caleb W. Gibson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ring was preceded in death by her husband, Emery William Ring; a granddaughter, Amy Lee Crissman; sisters, Edith Collins, Tessie Willard, and Shirley Willard; and a brother, Ellis Willard. The funeral service will be held Sunday, November 29, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ronnie Chamblin, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Ring will lie-in-state 30 minutes at the church prior to the service.
