Mabeline Towe Jones

Mrs. Mabeline Towe Jones, 76, of Cana, VA, widow of Ralph Dewitt Jones, passed away Sunday May 11, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Jones was born February 18, 1932, in Carroll County, VA, daughter of the late Ed and Susie Hiatt Towe. She attended Rocky Ford Christian Church and was retired from Spencer's Inc. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Weldon Jones and Susan and Bert Bond, all of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Glenda Jones of Cana, VA; six grandchildren, Jesse Jones and wife, Jessee, of Long Island City, NY, Jennifer Jones of Charlotte, Courtney Jones and Katlin Jones, both of Cana, VA, and Nathan Bond and Blake Bond, both of Mount Airy; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Josie Brannock of Mount Airy, Pat Jones of Cana, VA, and Peggy and John Cranford of Winston-Salem; and a brother and sister-in-law, Lynwood and Effie Towe of Cana, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by a sister, Christine Marsh; and a brother, Eugene Towe. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Rocky Ford Christian Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Billy Moore, speaker Weldon Jones, and speaker Peggy Cranford, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
