Macella Pearlie Cruise Jackson

Mrs. Macella Pearlie Cruise Jackson age 97of 1018 Devotion Road, Thurmond, formerly of Mount Airy, widow of James Martin Jackson, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Jackson was born n Carroll County on July 22, 1911 to the late Wiley Everette Cruise and Minnie Elizabeth Martin Cruise and was retired from Lynn Hosiery Mill. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Larry Wood of Thurmond; son and daughter-in-law, James and Esther Jackson of Mount Airy; grandchildren, Keena Moxley of Boonville, Vance Wood of Elkin, Odell Jackson and Richard Jackson both of Pilot Mtn.; three great-grandchildren and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Paul Cruise of Mount Airy and Foy and Ethel Cruise of Galax. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by sisters, Novella Bullington, Orpie Sumner, Oleta Gates and brothers, Raymond, Howard, Lloyd, William and Calvin. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at 4:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by Rev. Robert McCrary and Rev. Walter Walker with burial to follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Saturday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM .
