Macy Daries Harrold Collins

Mrs. Macy Daries Harrold Collins, 71, of 152 Minnow Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Saturday morning, January 19, 2013, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Collins was born July 25, 1941, in Patrick County, VA, the daughter of the late Harrison Davis and Needa Juanita Queen Harrold. Macy retired from Proctor-Silex Inc. after 37 years of service. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joe Bill Collins of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and David Anthony and Gail and Jeff Blackburn, all of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas David and Laura Jean Collins of High Point; five grandchildren, Joshua Blackburn, Mindy Brooke Kennedy and her husband, Danny, Misty Blackburn, Brittany Collins, and Justin Anthony; two great-grandchildren, Elliott Lee Anthony and Bentley Cole Beasley; a sister and brother-in-law, Stacy and Billy Puckett of Mount Airy; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Athel and Brenda Harrold of Lowgap and Jason and Shirley Harrold of Lambsburg, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by two brothers, Haeford Haywood Harrold and Haze Honor Harrold. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at 1:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Justin Nelson, the Rev. Doug Cockerham, and Amy Azelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrold Family Cemetery in Ararat, VA. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
