Mrs. Madge Hutchens (Stone) Badgett Rollins, 92, of RidgeCrest Retirement and Assisted Living Community, 1000 Ridgecrest Lane, Mount Airy, died Wednesday afternoon, January 24, 2007, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born April 4, 1914, in Surry County. She retired after having taught 44 years in the Surry County School System and served as both pianist and organist for White Plains Friends Meeting for many years. She was the daughter of Enoch "Dock" Martin Stone and Bessie Maude Hutchens Stone, both deceased. Madge had married Herman Presley Badgett in 1931, then had married a second time to the Rev. Bascom G. Rollins in 1963. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Martha Hope (Stone) Parker and her husband, Alvin D. Parker, Jr. of Burlington; a niece, Lynn Lorette; and a nephew, Kenton Stone. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM at White Plains Friends Meeting on Sunday, January 28, 2007, by the Rev. Wayne Johnson. Burial will follow in White Plains Friends Meeting Cemetery. The only viewing will be held Sunday from 1:30 until 3:00 PM preceding the services and burial.
