Mae Estelle Ring Carlyle

Mae Estelle Ring Carlyle, 92, of Siloam, died Thursday March 30, 2017 at her home. She was born in Surry County on October 26, 1924 to the late Irvin S. Ring and Etta Caroline Patterson Ring. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ring was preceded in death by her husband, John R. “Dock” Carlyle after 52 years of marriage. Also seven siblings, Norma Lee Swaim, Hazel Bunker, Jackie Swaim, June Carol Ring, Cecil, Marshall, and Ted Ring. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Carlyle Cockerham of the home; one granddaughter, Tracey King and husband Jerry of Mount Airy; one sister, Jo Ann Rollins, and one brother, Bill Ring and wife Anne of Winston-Salem; several nieces and nephews; and four special fur babies, Chloe, Noah, Sophia, and Bella. She was a housewife and an immaculate housekeeper. Estelle was a member of Pine Hill Friends Church. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Rev. Jerry King officiating. Interment will follow at the Siloam United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, North Carolina 27030.
