Maggie Irene Chandler Berrier

Mrs. Maggie Irene Chandler Berrier, 73, of 175 Noonkester Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2007, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Berrier was born October 23, 1933, in Surry County, to the late George Washington and Mary Jane Dawson Chandler. She was a homemaker and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Berrier of Dobson; two sons and daughters-in-law, William "Buck" and Donna Berrier and Stephen and Mitzi Berrier, all of Mount Airy; four grandchildren, Travis Holt and wife, Mandy, of Dobson, and Johnny Wayne Berrier, Trevor Berrier, and Trista Berrier, all of Mount Airy; a sister, Barbara Jean Ledford of Pine Ridge. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Berrier was preceded in death by her husband, John Junior Berrier; and four brothers, Clyde Hassell Chandler, George William Chandler, Thomas Foy Chandler, and Herbert Junior Chandler. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, June 17, 2007, at 2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Dale Wallace, and burial will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where her body will remain until carried to the church for the service.
