Maggie Loucindy East Stanley

Mrs. Maggie Loucindy East Stanley, 88, of 172 Round Peak Church Road, Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at her home. Mrs. Stanley was born April 10, 1923, in Bluefield, WV, to the late John Walter Elsie East and Bessie Mae Cobbler East. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by four daughters, Barbara White, Bobbie Wright, and Louise Hopkins, all of Mount Airy, and Donna Cawley of the home; thirty-four grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stanley was preceded in death by her husband, Jobie William Stanley, Sr.; a son, Jobie William Stanley, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Patricia Stanley. The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Alton Bledsoe and the Rev. Jerry King officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moody Funeral Services, Inc., P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030 to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
