Margaret "Granny" Allen Graves

Mrs. Margaret Allen Graves, 89, of Mount Airy, passed away at the home of her daughter on Tuesday morning, November 2, 2021. She was born in Carroll County, Virginia on June 5, 1932, to the late Taylor and Ella Mae Allen. Granny was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Mrs. Graves was a member of Mount Bethel Moravian Church and was retired from Spencers Inc. after many years of dedicated service. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, George Orlando Graves, III and wife Glenda, Denise and Warren Randall Booker, John Calvin Graves, Allen Hairston Graves, and Steven Mitchell Graves; 9 grandchildren, George Orlando Graves, IV and wife Jennifer, Shane Graves and wife Melody, Alicia Farris and husband David, Tiffany Burkholder and husband Jason, Josh Booker and wife Lakyn, Brooke Graves, Calvin Graves, Christina Graves, and Ryan Graves; 15 great-grandchildren, Riley Graves, Matthew Bagley, Jackson Graves, Addison Graves, Ryder Richardson, Kylee Booker, Jacob Farris, Courtney Farris, Dillon Burkholder, Trevor Booker, Rory Booker, Grace Burkholder, Ava Arrington, Weston Arrington, and Hutson Arrington; sister, Laura Ann Harold; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Graves was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 58 years, George Orlando Graves, II, siblings, Gladys Cook, Sidney Allen, Magdaline Hudson, and Herbert Allen. Per Mrs. Graves request, there will not be any services for her, and she will be entombed at Skyline Memory Gardens.
