Margaret Ann Starr Butcher

Mrs. Margaret Ann Starr Butcher, 86, of Dobson, passed away at her daughter’s home on Tuesday morning, November 14, 2023.  Mrs. Butcher was born in Surry County, North Carolina on March 1, 1937, to the late Don Starr and the late Wada Lee Hylton Starr.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Lee Butcher.  She was the owner/operator of Butchers Fabric Shop and managed Guest Inn in Atlantic Beach, NC.  She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.  Surviving is her husband of 67 years, Charlie Thomas (Tom) Butcher; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Terry Cave; grandchildren, Oshen and Jonathan Wallin, Dr. Justin Sands and his wife, Dr. Danelle Fourie; great-grandchildren, Caden Wallin, Kyleigh Wallin, Tyler Wallin; sister, Betty Lou Creed.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm November 17, 2023, at Piney Grove Baptist Church, with Entombment at Skyline Memory Gardens, in Mt. Airy, NC.  Rev. Jonathan Casstevens will officiate the service.  The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 pm until the time of her service at 2:00 pm.
