Margaret Frances Harris Eaton

Mrs. Margaret Frances Harris Eaton, 85, of 107 Eaton Road, Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Eaton was born March 21, 1924, in Surry County, daughter of the late Floyd Benton and Minnie Arnder Harris. Margaret was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She took joy in babysitting, reading, and tending to her flower garden. Mrs. Eaton was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Eaton Kimmel of Mount Airy; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Alan and Gwen Eaton, Steve and Martha Eaton, and Gary Eaton, all of Mount Airy; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Mike and Monica Eaton of Ararat, VA, and Jon and Patty Eaton, Deanna Eaton, Tony Kimmel, Tracie Eaton, Kayla Eaton, and Aaron Eaton, all of Mount Airy; three great-grandchildren, Tiffany Eaton, Savannah Eaton, and Hayden Eaton; a sister, Hazel Harris Bennett of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Eaton was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Vance Billy Eaton; a sister, Thelma Harris Hawks; and a brother, Archie Lee Harris. The funeral service will be held Friday, July 10, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Don Fellows and the Rev. Dale Bass officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
