Margaret Sparger Honbarrier

Mrs. Margaret Sparger Honbarrier, 96, died Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Brookridge Retirement Community in Winston-Salem.  Mrs. Honbarrier was born August 12, 1926, in Surry County, the daughter of the late DeWitt and Lura Wagoner Sparger.  She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dobson.  Surviving are her cousins, Iylyn Martin, Goldie Sparger, Sue Compton, and Dr. Jim Childress.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Honbarrier was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Honbarrier.  A graveside service will be held Sunday, July 2, 2023, 2:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery, with Dr. Jim Childress officiating.  No formal visitation will be held.  Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
