Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Norman Lovill, 89, of Asheboro, formerly of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011, at Brian Center Nursing Care in Lexington. Mrs. Lovill was born June 3, 1922, in Surry County, one of six children born to the late James and Sarah Caroline McCreary Norman. Margaret retired from Golden Age in Lexington. She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Lovill Young of Linwood; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Davis Lovill of Huntsville, AL; six grandchildren, Jeff Young, Brian Young, Joel Lovill, Blake Lovill, Tammy Woodruff Burns, and Shanda Atkins Kinder; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Beulah Norman and Margaret Bondurant, both of Mount Airy; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lovill was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Lovill; two daughters, Shirley Esther Lovill Atkins and Barbara Lovill Woodruff; a son, Bobby Eugene Lovill; a sister, Joyce Norman Simmons; and four brothers, Harley Norman, Clyde Norman, Dixie Norman, and James Norman. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Mike Motley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
