Margaret Corrine Pell Puckett

Mrs. Margaret Corrine Pell Puckett, 79, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday morning, September 4, 2009, at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. Puckett was born October 22, 1929, in Surry County, to the late Meredith and Maggie McBride Pell. She retired Proctor-Silex Inc. and was a member of Flat Rock Presbyterian Church. Surviving are four daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Lamont Flessner of Sioux Falls, SD, Betty and Jimmy Lawson of Pilot Mountain, Sylvia Holdaway of Dobson, and Darlene "Dink" Puckett of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Donna Puckett of Jonesville; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Calvin Pell of Thomasville, Mack and Ann Pell of Mount Airy, Magaline Pell of Winston-Salem, and Aligene Pell of Mount Airy; and special friends of the family, Elaine Moss, Tony Leftwich, and Kevin Manning. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Puckett was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Puckett; a sister, Delmar Tate; and four brothers, Pershing Pell, James Pell, Elbert Pell, and Norman Pell. The funeral service will be held held Sunday, September 6, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Tom Bagnal officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
