Margaret Inez Jones Surratt

Mrs. Margaret Inez Jones Surratt age 68 of 768 East Bluemont Road, Mt. Airy, NC wife of Mr. Carlos Franklin Surratt passed away Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born July 12, 1940 in Carroll County, VA to the late Jacob Rufus and Maggie Mae Felts Jones. She was a Daycare operator and was a member of The Peoples Church. Surviving are husband, Carlos F. Surratt of the home, four daughters and two sons-in-law, Cathy Surratt and fiance, Mitchell Reynolds of the home, Brenda and Wayne Dodson, Linda Jones, Betty and David Allen all of Mt. Airy, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Olen Franklin and Rosa Surratt, Hyattsville, MD and Steven Surratt, Charlotte, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mabel and James Wingler, Fancy Gap, VA, Emma and Bobby Moyer, Moneta, VA, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Marcia Jones, Simpsonville, SC, Paul and Carol Jones, Virginia Beach, VA, special friends, Betty Byrd, King, and Hilda Jones, Lowgap. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Surratt was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Eddie Jones and four brothers, James, Clyde and Howard Jones and Sydney Felts. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mt. Airy conducted by Rev. Dewey Felts and Rev. Eugene Brinkley. Burial will follow in the Susie Hawks Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Friday at Moody Funeral Home.
