Mrs. Margie Faye King Beck, 89, of Winston-Salem, passed away Monday, December 19, 2011, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Mark Kistler, in Warren, OH. Mrs. Beck was born May 7, 1922, in Carroll County, VA, the daughter of the late Hosea and Virginia Elizabeth Leonard King. She diligently worked beside her husband until his death on April 30, 2011. She was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Margaret Snow Steed of Thomasville, Mary Louise Roberts of Winston-Salem, and Patsy and Mark Kistler of Warren, OH; two sons, Thomas R. Beck of Winston-Salem and David Beck of Mount Airy; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel King Robertson of Cana, VA; a sister-in-law, Hazel King of Mount Airy; several nieces and nephews; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Beck was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Esker Thomas Beck; two sisters, Vada Tate and Nellie Combs; and a brother, Robert King. The funeral service will be held Friday, December 23, 2011, at 2:00 PM at New Bethel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jimmy McCraw, the Rev. Odell Sisk, and Brother Don Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
