Mrs. Margie Gearldine Inman Beck, 86, of Elkin, passed away Sunday morning, August 23, 2020, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Beck was born June 15, 1934, in Haywood County, the daughter of the late Garland Rogers and Julie Ann Inman Gibson. She was a homemaker and a member of Welcome Valley Baptist Church for 45 years. Mrs. Beck was preceded in death by her late husband, John Henry Beck. She is survived by five daughters and four sons-in-law, Peggy and Eddie Parker, Judy and Larry Cribb, Shelia “Levada” and Evan Beaver, Sherry Beck, and Rebecca Denise Beck and Albert Walker; six sons and five daughters-in-law, Timothy and Robin Reece, Jimmy and Theresa Reece, Mark and Teresa Reece, Michael “Buddy” and Dana Reece, Melvin Beck, and David and Sandy Beck; thirty-one grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Velvet Conard, Shirley and Ray Reece, Linda and Gene Woods, Kathy Burgess, and Vicky Gibson Matthews; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, the Rev. Bill and Patricia Jenkins, Ronnie Hauser, and Jerry Bryant. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Welcome Valley Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the chapel to lie-in-state from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. The family is blessed with an abundance of friends, who they love immensely. Respecting the current world-health crisis, the family requests that friends make donations to Welcome Valley Baptist Church in lieu of providing meals for the family. Moody-Davis Funeral Service is serving the family.
