Margie Marie Cartwright

Mrs. Margie Spangler Cartwright, age 99 of Meadows of Dan, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the home of her brother in Summerfield, NC. She was born in Patrick County on May 6, 1922, to the late Dudley S. Spangler and Mary Josephine “Josie” Spangler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Cartwright; and two sisters, Bernice Irvin, and Nellie Wheeler. Margie was a longtime member of Mayberry Presbyterian Church and had retired from Tultex. She loved helping people and never met a stranger. She also had a special love for the mountains; enjoyed country music, and dancing.

Surviving is her brother and sister-in-law, William Wallace “Bill” and Arlene Spangler of Summerfield, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Mayberry Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jeff Garrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Spangler Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
