Margie Marie Gwyn Gwyn

Mrs. Margie Marie Gwyn Gwyn, 92, of 421 Dunmans Alley, Mount Airy, passed away Monday, March 10, 2008, at her home. Mrs. Gwyn was born June 2, 1915, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Lewis and Lottie Thomas Gwyn. She retired from Mount Airy Furniture Company and was a member of the Baptist faith. She is survived by two daughters, Gertrude Jordan of Robbins and Barbara O'Neal of Ararat; a son and daughter-in-law, Marvin J. and Adele Gwyn of Cana, VA; twenty grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; eighteen great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Odessa Gwyn of FL; and two brothers, Curtis Gwyn of Mount Airy and Dee Gwyn of FL. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gwyn was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Marion Jasper Gwyn; a daughter, Virginia Helen Goad; two sons, Roscoe Gwyn and William Gwyn; and a grandson, Billy James Branch. The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 13, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Johnny Hawks, and burial will follow in the Bear Trail Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
