Margie Lee Bond Jessup

Mrs. Margie Lee Bond Jessup, 84, wife of 63 years to the late Warren R. Jessup, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at Central Continuing Care after a short illness. She was born in Carroll County, VA to the late John C. and Gracie E. Bond on August 7, 1928. Margie was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. Her greatest joy in life was her love of her family and her church. She will be missed so much by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her two precious daughters, Brenda Mabe and Cornelia "Kay Kay" Norman, her grandson, Chess Shelton whom she loved dearly, and a son-in-law, Burley Mabe, Jr. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Mrs. Octavia Simmons, Mrs. Nellie Bowman, Ms. Edna Coalson, Ms. Helen Phipps and three infant brothers. Margie is survived by a daughter, Sandra Shelton and husband Chester of Westfield, a son, Dwight L. Jessup and wife, Kelly of Pilot Mountain; a son-in-law, Mike Norman of Mt. Airy; one sister, Carol Brannock of Cary; 7 beloved grandchildren, Julie Taylor, Wendy Nichols, Brandy Dorto, Summer Shelton, Leslie Mabe, Matthew Jessup and Daniel Jessup, 10 great grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law, Rena Stewart of Westfield. Margie spent her last days enjoying doing genealogy work for her church, listening and playing music and most of all keeping up with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted by her special friend Brother J. C. Haymore of the Pilot Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A private graveside service will be held. Special thanks to the 4th Hall Nurses at Central Continuing Care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home at 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.
