Mrs. Margie Mae Reece Norman Age 87 of Mt. Airy, NC. passed away Thursday August 15, 2013 at Central Continuing Care in Mt. Airy. Mrs. Norman was born June 22, 1926 in Surry County to the late George and Nina Reece, she was retired from Northern Hospital of Surry County as a Nursing Assistant and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law Deena and Tony Martin of Mt. Airy, one son and daughter-in-law Doug and Cheryl Norman of Mt. Airy, four grandchildren Tara Norman, Lee Martin, Anna Martin and Molly Martin, several nieces and nephews and several special girlfriends. In addition to her parents Mrs. Norman was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Norman, four sisters Maggie Sechrist, Cora Stanley, Dora Hutchens and Pearl Wood and by five brothers Floyd Reece, Claude Reece, G. W. "Doc" Reece, Jim Reece and Joe Reece. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM. at Calvary Baptist Church with services conducted by Rev. Alex Martin and Rev. Melton Sewell with burial to follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 AM until time for the service at Calvary Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Co-ed 3 Sunday School Class c/o of Lillie Mae Haynes, 578 Doss Rd. Mt. Airy, NC. 27030 or to the Central Continuing Care Activity Fund c/o of Krystal Simmons, 1287 Newsome St. Mt. Airy, NC. 27030. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Central Continuing Care for all of their love and care given to Margie during her stay there. Also a special thank you to the Adult Ladies 3 Sunday School Class at Calvary Baptist Church for the visits, calls, cards and friendship shown to Margie.
