Marie Puckett Easter

Mrs. Marie "Sis" Puckett Easter, 80, of King, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Village Care of King. Mrs. Easter was born February 8, 1930, in Surry County, to the late Dock and Ola Davis Puckett. She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother and grandmother. Mrs. Easter is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Deborah Kay Dobson and her fiancé, Dennis Jones, of Suffolk, VA, and Wanda and Oren Tucker of Clemmons; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Manuel "Bounce" and Jane Puckett of King and Major and Delta Puckett of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Easter was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Herbert Easter; a sister, Margie "Tag" Hall; and two brothers, Harvey Puckett and Joe Puckett. The funeral service will be held Sunday, October 31, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Mr. Carroll Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Village Care of King for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Easter during her stay there. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Residential Council Fund at Village Care of King, P.O. Box 1750, King, NC 27021.
