Marie Chaney McCann

Ms. Marie Chaney McCann, 88, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010, at Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart, VA. She was born April 13, 1921, in Surry County, to the late William Howard and Clara Dave Corns Chaney. She retired from Spencer's Inc. and was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. Among survivors are friends, Lura Brintle, Roger Crotts, and Fairy Bowman, all of Mount Airy, and Shelby Guynn of Dobson; and several cousins. In addition to her parents, Ms. Chaney was preceded in death by a sister, Loucreasy Chaney; and a brother, William Cleveland Chaney. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at 3:00 PM at Midkiff Cemetery, with the Rev. Tommy Jackson officiating. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
