Marie Simpson

Mrs. Marie Berrier Simpson, 94, of Dobson, passed away Wednesday night, February 17, 2021, at Twelve Oaks Assisted Living Facility in Mount Airy.  Mrs. Simpson was born April 29, 1926, in Surry County, the daughter of the late Jacob Raleigh and Grace Tolbert Berrier.  Marie retired as a secretary from Copeland Elementary School after 31 years of service.  She is survived by a son, Andy Simpson of Ararat; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren; and a sister.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Anderson Simpson, Sr.  No formal services will be held.  The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love, care, and compassion shown by the staff at Twelve Oaks Assisted Living Facility.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC  27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
