Mrs. Marilyn Wood Driggers, 75, of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at her home. She was born in Surry County on June 21, 1946, to the late James Gilmer and Ona Naomi O’Dell Wood. Mrs. Driggers was a restaurant owner who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by a son, Chris Driggers; grandchildren, Marc Driggers and Kimberly, Naomi Driggers, Carson Driggers, Steven Warnshuis and Hannah; great grandchildren, Chloe Driggers, Roselyn Driggers, Silas Warnshuis, and Shelby Warnshuis; a special niece, Marguerite Burcham and husband Steve; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Mrs. Driggers was preceded in death by her husband, Charles David Driggers; sisters and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Troy Newman; Jonnie Mae Chipman; a brother, James Gilmer “Bud” Wood, Jr. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. Danny Miller officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 11:30 AM until time for the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 1909 N. Main St., Mt. Airy, NC 27030. Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
