Mrs. Marion Louise Cook Crow, 88, of 1287 Newsome Street, Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2010, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born March 15, 1921, in Kinston, to the late Thomas Edward and Cecelia Milton Cook. She retired from Cross Creek Apparel and was a homemaker. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mount Airy for over 50 years. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Junior Simpson of Mount Airy and Cecelia and Gene Pruett of Winter Garden, FL; three grandchildren and their spouses, Greg and Vickie Pruett of Coco Beach, FL, Steve and Laura Pruett of Orlando, FL, and Debra and David Noonkester of Star City, AR; four great-grandchildren, Kris and Amy Kizer of Seattle, WA, Nikki Noonkester of Star City, AR, and Cody Pruett and Courtney Pruett, both of Coco Beach, FL; a great-great-grandson, Mason Kizer of Seattle WA; and four step-great-grandchildren, Nicole Lucas and Paige Lucas, both of Orlando, FL, Jamie Noonkester of Star City, AR, and Jonathan Noonkester of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Crow was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Crow; four sisters, Catherine Cook, Frances Cook, Eleanor Jackson, and Agnes Martin; and a brother, Ed Cook. The funeral service will be held Sunday, January 10, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Dale Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 1286, Mount Airy, NC 27030, or to Antioch Baptist Church, 137 Antioch Drive, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
