Marion Katherine Roberts Fancher Robinson

Mrs. Marion Katherine Roberts Fancher Robinson, 72, of 258 Badgett Avenue, Mount Airy, formerly of Howes Cave, NY, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Robinson was born February 24, 1938, in New York, NY, daughter of the late Fredrick Raymond and Anna Caffery Roberts. She was a loving homemaker to her family as well as a former member of the Central Bridge Volunteer Fire Department and the Richmondville United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Manford Bruce Robinson of the home; two daughters, Genevieve Fancher Bland of Harrisburg, PA, and Mary Roberts Nay of Dobson; a son, Fredrick Raymond Roberts of Fayetteville; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Gaida of Vale. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by a husband, Glenn Fancher, who passed away June 21, 1984; a sister, Dorothy Gibson; and a brother, Fred Roberts. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home Chapel in Cobleskill, NY, with the Rev. Marvin Batcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Summit Cemetery in Summit, NY. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Moody Funeral Services and Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home are serving the family.
