Mark Wade Gates

Mr. Mark Wade Gates, 28, of Ararat, VA, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at his home. Mr. Gates was born October 19, 1981, to David S. Gates and Penny P. Scales. He served our country in the United States Army for four years, including one year in Iraq. In addition to his parents, David is survived by a grandmother, Shirley Rhonda; aunts, Mildred Aplin and Jody Lynn Dixon; an uncle, Dennis Gates; and cousins, Von Keith Perrin, Sr., Paula Aplin Collins, and Thomas Gates; and many special friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Hunter's Chapel Church, with military honors by VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
