Mark Edward Johnson

Mr. Mark Edward Johnson, 60, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday afternoon, July 25, 2022, at his home.  Mr. Johnson was born December 11, 1961, in Surry County, to Grady Edward and Carol Stewart Johnson.  Mark was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.  Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Christine Arbaugh Johnson; his daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth Hicks, Sherri Grose and James, Jessica Bannister and Ian Huels, and Jennifer Hall and Brett; a special son, Austin Newman; his parents, Grady Edward and Carol Stewart Johnson; a brother, Michael S. Johnson; along with several nieces and nephews.  Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Grady Elzavan and Elizabeth McHone Johnson; and his maternal grandparents, Arvie and Grace Carter Stewart.  The funeral service will be held Friday, July 29, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Pastor Roger Collins and Pastor Scott Meadows officiating.  The family will receive friends Friday from 9:00 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to White Plains Christian School, 609 Old US 601, Mount Airy, NC  27030.
