Mark Israel Robertson

Mr. Mark Israel Robertson, 39, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011. Born December 13, 1971, in Surry County, Mark loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his two sons, Jessie and Justin, whom he dearly loved. Also surviving are his parents, J.C. and Jean Robertson of Mount Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Michael Combs; four brothers and three sisters-in - law, Greg Robertson, Eddie and Doris Robertson, the Rev. Mitch and Kathy Robertson, and the Rev. Hank and Donna Robertson; his maternal grandparents, Jesse and Pearl Doss; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Robertson was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rufus Robertson and Daisy Robertson Smith; and his best friend, Lee Poindexter. The funeral service will be held Sunday, January 30, 2011, at 2:00 PM at The Community Church, located at 280 O'Neal Road in Mount Airy. The Rev. Ray Hutson and the Rev. Lonnie Gunter will be the officiating ministers. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Rev. Mitch Robertson, 123 Michael Drive, Dobson, NC 27017 to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
