Mark Timothy Simmons

Mr. Mark Timothy Simmons, age 49 of Mt. Airy, husband of Carol Flanagan Simmons, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Simmons was born in Forsyth County, March 17, 1958 to Jo Ella Mosley Winkler and Melvin Douglas Simmons. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother who will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Surviving is his dear wife, Carol Flanagan Simmons of the home; sons Mark Casey Simmons of Mt. Airy; Michael Bisceglio of the home; daughters, Alyssa Flanagan of the home and Melissa Flanagan of Mt. Airy; his mother and dad, Jo Ella and Dick Winkler of Pilot Mountain; his father, Melvin Douglas Simmons of Mt. Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Robin and Robert Phillips of Pilot Mountain; a nephew, Dustin Kirby and wife Treva of Monks Corner, SC; two uncles; a great aunt and numerous cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 24, 2007 at Welcome Baptist Church and will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service. The service will be conducted by Rev. Bailey Elmore. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 7:00 to 9:00 at Moody Funeral Home and at other times at his mother's home at 1412 Black Mountain Rd., Pilot Mountain, NC.
