Mark Anthony Vernon

Mr. Mark Anthony Vernon, 54, of Mt. Airy passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at his home. He was born in Surry County on September 29, 1958 to Jack and Joann Gentry Vernon. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Mark Dudek of San Antonio, TX; his parents, Jack and Joann Vernon of Mt. Airy; two grandchildren, Madison Elizabeth Dudek and Emma Charlotte Dudek; a sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Tommy Atkins of Mt. Airy; a brother, Monty Dale Vernon of Mt. Airy; a nephew, Joshua Jack Atkins and fiancé, Shannon Dollyhite; a great nephew, Kayden Atkins; special cousin and best friend, Billy Thomas; good friends, Glen Butler, Anne Montgomery; many cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lee Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 PM until time of the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
