Marshall Sowder

Mr. Marshall Lee Sowder, age 90, of Siloam NC, passed away on Monday July 12, 2021 at Universal Health Care of King.  He was born in Raleigh County West Virginia, on October 21, 1930, to the late Ferdinand Sowder and  Goldie Humphrey Sowder.  He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church of Siloam.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife Shelby Sowder; twin sister, Mary Treadway; brothers, Orphal Sowder and Bernard Sowder.  Surviving is his two daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth Grace and Brian Estes, Faith Darlene and Ed Hudson; sons and daughters-in-law David Lee and Della Sowder, Larry Marshall and Kay Sowder; eight grandchildren, April Sowder, Tammy Holcomb, Tracy Scott, Stephen Reed, Crystal Hudson, Jaime Groce, Brandi Jennings, Barbie Chaney; fourteen great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Glenda Sowder.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday July 15, 2021 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Rev. Mickey Brooks and Bro. Barry Marshall will officiate the services. The family will receive friends at Poplar Springs Baptist Church of Siloam, NC. on Thursday from 12:30 PM until the time of his service.
