Martha Ann Largen

Ms. Martha Ann Largen, 57, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday afternoon, January 27, 2017, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Ms. Largen was born September 5, 1959, in Carroll County, VA, to Peggy Dunbar Woodruff and the late Sherman Kenny Largen. Martha was an assistant manager at Mariner Finance in Winston-Salem for several years. She is survived by a son, Jonathan Largen of Mount Airy; two grandchildren, James Largen and Michael Largen, both of Marysville, KS; her mother, Peggy Dunbar Woodruff of Mount Airy; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Gayla and Danny Malloy of Greensboro and Margaret Ruth Largen of Mount Airy; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Pat Largen of Mount Airy and Kenny and Kelly Largen of Ararat; her fiancé, Charles David Sawyers of Ararat, VA; and the entire Sawyers family, who were very near and dear to her heart. In addition to her father, Ms. Largen was preceded in death by a brother, James Sherman Largen. There will not be a formal memorial service. However, the family will receive friends Monday, January 30, 2017, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. The family also welcomes friends at 1246 Haystack Road, Mount Airy, on Sunday from 1:00 until 5:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
