Martha Jean Stanley Lawson

Mrs. Martha Jean Stanley Lawson, age 63, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022, at her home. She was born October 26, 1959, in Surry County, to the late Dosie Ellis Stanley and the late Virgie Ethel Hutchens Stanley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Stanley.

            Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband, Johnny Ray Lawson; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Kathleen Cook and Nicholas Cook; sons and daughter-in-law, Bobby Joe Lawson (Chrystal Harrison) and Jamie Ray Lawson and Brittany Lawson; stepson, David Armstrong; grandchildren, Adam Cook, Lucas Cook, Andrew Lawson, Bryson Lawson, and Christian Lawson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia Atkins, Glenda and Barney Hubbard, Laura Beck, LaRue Bowling, Mary and Jesse Torres, and Rita and Warren Atkins;  and half- sisters, Mary Leigh and Maude Jean. Mrs. Lawson was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother and sister, and friend to all who knew her.

            Visitation will be Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. Services will begin at 2:00 PM in the Moody-Davis Chapel with Rev. Warren Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Community Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 1427 Edgewood Drive, Suite 101, Mount Airy NC 27030. Moody-Davis Funeral Service is serving the Lawson family.
