Martha Anne Lester

Mrs. Martha Anne Hudson Lester, age 77 of Collinsville, and formerly of Patrick County, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born in Henry County on May 20, 1940 to the late Thomas Hudson and Leslie Edwards Hudson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lester was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. “Jake” Lester; a brother, Junior Spencer; and three sisters, Louise Reynolds, Lillian Elgin and Juanita Joyce. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Elamsville, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Mrs. Lester is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Allen Gilley of Collinsville; two grandchildren, Jessica Gilley, Kayla Strait and husband, Stephen; six great-grandchildren, William Stilwell, Megan Stilwell, Kailee Gilley, Kenzie Strait Rayna Minnick and Emily Strait; a sister, Christine Boyle of Cape Canaveral, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Greg Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee Cemetery in Tuggles Gap. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
