Martha Frances Puckett Smith

Mrs. Martha Frances Puckett Smith, 90, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mrs. Smith was born December 19, 1931, in Patrick County, VA, to the late William Edger and Zula Chappell Puckett.  Martha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.  She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.  She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Lynn Boyd; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brack and Sandra Boyd and Preston and Debbie Smith; three stepdaughters; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Colbert Clinton Smith; three sisters, Ruth Elizabeth Puckett Norman, Willie Hazel Puckett Martin, and Hester Puckett (infant); and six brothers, Ernest Haywood Puckett, Eugene Ralph Puckett, Bryant Glenn Puckett, William Wade Puckett, James Ray Puckett, and William Puckett (infant).  The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 28, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Scott Schuyler officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Mount Carmel Baptist Church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Shepherd’s House, P.O. Box 1722, Mount Airy, NC  27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
