Martha Alma Riggs Wilmoth
CLOVER, SC – Mrs. Martha “Alma” Wilmoth, 92, went to be with her Heavenly Father peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at CaroMont Health in Gastonia, N.C. She was born in Surry County on March 4, 1929, to the late David and Metta Hamlin Riggs. She is a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Dobson, NC. She was a loving wife of 65 years to the late Robert “Bob” Wilmoth and a wonderful, nurturing, and hard-working mother for her eight children. She lived the last three-and-a-half years with her daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Mac Outz of Clover, S.C. They transformed their home into a fun and happy haven for her last years, showering her with love and kindness.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandchild, Russ Edenfield; four brothers: Grover, Lonnie, Glenn, and Raymond Riggs; and one sister, Myrtle Lewis. Surviving are her five daughters and sons-in-law: Wanda and Ronnie Green of Bessemer City, N.C., Doris and Mac Outz of Clover, S.C., Kathy and Rodney Fountain of Cleveland, N.C., Debbie and Steve Brozina of Mt. Airy, N.C., and Donna and Buddy Davis of Jacksonville, N.C.; three sons and daughters-in-law: Larry and Renee Wilmoth of Clover, S.C., Kenneth and Cindy Wilmoth of Gloucester, V.A., and Gary and Teresa Wilmoth of Gastonia, N.C. Also survived by a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alma is also survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Bonnie Riggs of Mt. Airy, N.C.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 2:00pm in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, with burial to follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at Moody-Davis Funeral Home one hour prior to service.
