Mr. Marvin Eugene Beasley, 84, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday night, June 6, 2022, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Beasley was born May 9, 1938, in Surry County, one of seven children born to the late Arthur and Maggie Lawson Beasley. Marvin retired from Sprint Telephone Company in 1998, after 38 years of service. He was a Christian and a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. Through the years, Marvin served in many capacities at the church, including a deacon, Sunday school teacher, RA leader, and a member of several committees. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Glenda Hawks Beasley; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Kent Moser; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Chad and Mary Beth Beasley and Jason and Dawn Beasley; his grandchildren, Keith and Katie Moser, Kyle and Amy Moser, Marydith Beasley, Kathryn Beasley, Margaret Beasley, Gracelyn Beasley, and Samantha Beasley; two great-grandchildren, Kyler Moser and Kamden Moser; a sister, Dot Brannock; a sister-in-law, Elsie Beasley; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Beasley was preceded in death by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby and Jim Pruitt and Annabell and O.B. Hodges; and three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Claude Beasley, Clarence and Juanita Beasley, and Paul and Vernell Beasley. A service of worship and celebration of Marvin’s life will be held Friday, June 10, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, with Dr. Jonathan Casstevens and the Rev. Brian Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the church. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love, care, and compassion shown by the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Renovation Fund at Calvary Baptist Church, 314 South Franklin Road, Mount Airy, NC 27030; or Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 1427 Edgewood Drive, Suite 101, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
