Mr. Marvin Henderson “Pa” Bledsoe, Sr., age 85, of Siloam, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 22, 2021. He was born in Surry County on November 21, 1935 to the late Rev. Hiram Henderson Bledsoe and the late Ida Brindle Bledsoe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, David “Sandy” Bledsoe, Marvin H. Bledsoe Jr.; one sister, Elsie Sizemore; three brothers, Arvil Bledsoe, AJ “Bill” Bledsoe, Arnold Gray Bledsoe; one grandchild, Carrie Danielle Bledsoe. He was retired from Motor Convoy and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Dobson. Surviving is his wife, Audrey Stanley Bledsoe, sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Alison Bledsoe, Jeremy and Tiffany Bledsoe, Rhonda Bledsoe; step-children, Deborah and Mike Cave, Meloney and Keith Jones, Steve and Kay Stanley; eight grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, nineteen step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy and Rev. Jerry Pardue, Linda and Bill Cooke, several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 24, 2021 in the cemetery of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, with Rev. Glinard Lawson officiating. His body will lie in state in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church on Wednesday from 12 Noon until the time of his service at 2:00 PM. The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 431 Jenkinstown Rd. Dobson, NC 27017.
