Marvin Clarence Edwards

Mr. Marvin Clarence Edwards, 76 of Cana, VA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Northern Hospital of Surry County surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Edwards was born in Carroll County on May 13, 1939 to the late John Anderson Edwards and Milie Evelyn Cagle Edwards. He was of the Christian faith and a member of The Peoples Church. He was a paint supervisor at Pike Electric for seventeen years. Jesus’ light shined through him to his family and all who knew him. Surviving is his loving wife of 56 years, Vineda Fay Leftwich Edwards of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Greta Edwards Dellenback and husband John of Ararat, VA, Hannah Edwards McMillian and husband Dennis of Cana, VA, and Vineda Edwards Combs of Cana, VA; one son and daughter-in-law, Nathan Lee Edwards and wife April of Cana, VA; four grandchildren, Blake Shoemaker, Brandon Shoemaker, Jed Dellenback, and Mason Dellenback; three step-grandchildren, Amber, Trenton, and Fisher McMillian; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne Edwards and wife Lucretia of Cana, VA, and Carvie Edwards and wife Ann of Bellevue, OH. In addition to his parents, Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by three sisters, Lelia King, Vera McCraw, and Leora Edwards; three brothers, Loman, Ralph, and Marlie Edwards. Funeral services will be at The Peoples Church on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Gene Brinkley and Rev. Jason Easter officiating and burial to follow in the Marion Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 12-2 PM at The Peoples Church.
