Marvin Clayton Faw, Sr.

Mr. Marvin “Clayton” Faw, Sr., 88, of Mount Airy passed away Friday, May 20, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Surry County on August 20, 1933, to the late Obie and Vera Lucille Midkiff Faw.  Mr. Faw retired from NC Granit Corporation and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.  He proudly served our country in the United States Army.  He is survived by a daughter Debra Pruitt; sons, Tim Faw, and Obie Faw; grandchildren, Jonathan Dixon, Kenneth Wilhite, Nathaniel Pruitt, and Kelly Faw; great grandchildren, Isaac Wilhite, Ivy Wilhite, Nathan Bonds, and Ty Gwyn; great great grandchild, Milo Wilhite; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug Faw and Judi, Rev. Bill Faw and Jewell, Hazel Faw, Nancy Faw; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Faw was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Marie Brewer Faw; sons, Marvin Clayton Faw, Jr., Michael Faw, and Barron Faw; brothers and sister-in-law, Dennis “Dink” Faw, Benny Faw, Haywood Faw, Charles Faw, and Donald “Spook” Faw and Lynn.  A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Dennis Kennan, and Mr. Ken Penny officiating.  Burial will follow in Midkiff Cemetery with military honors conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
