Marvis Vernon Cockram

Mr. Marvis Vernon Cockram, age 90 of Mount Airy passed away on Friday May 3, 2024, at his home.  He was born October 29, 1933, in Patrick County to the late Emmitt and Eva McAlexander Cockram. Mr. Cockram proudly served our country in the US Marines and retired from the auto industry.  Left to cherish his memory are his significant other, Mary Aldridge; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Ricky Edmonds; granddaughter, Kasie and Andy Beal; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Manford Dale and Mary Cockram, and Wilbur and Pam Cockram; and several other family and friends.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Cockram was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Griffith Cockram; sister and brother-in-law, Demetrice and Jay Davis; and a brother, Delma Lane Cockram.  Graveside services will be held on Wednesday May 8, 2024, at 1:00pm at Skyline Memory Gardens with full military rites by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard Pilot Mountain Post 9436 and Mount Airy Post 2019.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
